HPMP Meeting Minutes Our group consists of parents with children in the public Montessori program. Others who are interested in supporting public Montessori education are welcome to join us too! HPMP is a non-profit group made of people who support Montessori education in many ways – by volunteering in the classroom and working to raise funds. Fund-raisers --- such as LobsterFest --- generate money to provide the specialized Montessori teacher training and continuing education as well as Montessori materials for the classrooms. HPMP meetings are the first Monday in every month of the school year from 7-8 pm. Meetings rotate from school to school (Broadwater, Central and Smith). During 2009-2010, meetings are held in the Smith Elementary School Library. All Montessori parents are encouraged to attend! Your involvement is essential to the continued success and vitality of the public Montessori program in Helena. HPMP has successfully raised funds to for Montessori teacher certification, classroom materials – expanding the program from a single Montessori lower elementary (grades 1-3) classroom at Central in 1990 to two lower elementary and an upper elementary (grades 4-5) in three Helena schools – Broadwater, Central, and Smith. Typically, HPMP provides $10,000-$15,000 to support public Montessori education each year. Volunteers raise these funds throughout the year – we could use your help! Help with a fund-raiser, donate to HPMP (it’s tax-deductible!) or both! For more information, please contact any of the HPMP Officers (link), contact Broadwater (324-1130), Central (324-1230), or Smith Schools (324- 1530) or write to HPMP at P.O.
